Ixx is an extradimensional, extratemporal, omnipresent, omnipotent being. He appears to be a Blood Elf male with fair skin, blond hair, and green eyes. His preferred guise is that of a mage trained in the arcane arts, but he has been known to appear in many forms.

Ixx has been involved peripherally with some of the most significant events in the history of Azeroth. He was known to be a member of Queen Azshara’s Highborne court prior to the War of the Ancients; he was an advisor to Lord Aiden Perenolde of the Kingdom of Alterac during the Second War; in the Kirin Tor, he was a colleague of Aegwynn, Medivh, and Khadgar; following the creation of the Royal Apothecary Society (Forsaken), he conducted plague research with Apothecary Putress; and, since the Battle of Angrathar, the Wrathgate, he has worked closely within the highest echelons of the Argent Crusade and the Sunreavers, taking his orders directly from Aethas Sunreaver. He is an ordained Priest of the Church of the Holy Light and has worked on occasion with the Council of Bishops. His current duties are known to include missions in Pandaria.

Additionally, Ixx was responsible for the rescue of Caspius Greenleaf and his brother, Edmondus Greenleaf the Younger, during the Third War, and again following the fall of the Kingdom of Gilneas.

Known History
Little is known about Ixx’s past other than vague generalities which, though they seem impossible, can often be corroborated by references to him in the occasional historical text. Unfortunately, Ixx’s own demeanour often renders him almost entirely incomprehensible: he seldom remembers meeting the same person twice, frequently forgets his own name, and occasionally seems to recall events which have not yet come to pass.

In the few moments of lucidity afforded to Ixx, his patient associates–such as Bishop Johannes Moorwhelp and Tanya Seltara have gleaned a few, sparse details. Ixx claims to be an aspect of Death itself, and his sole focus of interest–in the tangible form of the Blood Elf Ixx–is the fate of the brothers Edmondus Greenleaf and Caspius Greenleaf. According to Ixx, the entire reason for his physical presence is to guide the fate of Edmondus and Caspius to their mortal conclusions, upon which Ixx, too, will vanish, having completed the purpose for which his physical form was created.

Ixx rescued the Greenleaf brothers from the Undead Scourge during the Third War, by guiding the brothers to the Kingdom of Gilneas. Years later, he again rescued the brothers when they fled Gilneas during the events following the Cataclysm. When Edmondus was mortally injured and tainted with shadow in Northrend, he appealed to Ixx to take his body away so that there would be no shame brought upon he or his family. Ixx dutifully obliged, keeping the matter so secret that not even Caspius knew what had actually transpired.

After speaking to Bishop Moorwhelp, Ixx made it clear that time alloted for his visible, physical presence was coming to an end. The meaning of this became clear as, during the final illness of Caspius Greenleaf, Ixx contacted Columban V|Archbishop Columban V and told him that hope existed for Caspius only if the ailing bishop was brought to Bogpaddle in the Swamp of Sorrows.

Caspius died along the way to Bogpaddle, just before dawn, surrounded by his friends. When the group arrived, they found Ixx accompanied by a silent (though apparently living) Edmondus Greenleaf, waiting aboard the same ship that had saved the brothers twice before. Ixx comforted the Archbishop, and told him that the Light had afforded a special grace for Caspius: that he should be spared corruption, and granted a peaceful rest at long last. Taking the bishop aboard, Ixx pressed a hand to Caspius’ forehead, waking him as if from a deep slumber. Then, Caspius and Edmondus stood silently upon the deck, smiling gently uopn their assembled friends.

Ixx bid the Archbishop farewell and the ship slipped its moorings of its own accord, sailing into the harbour without the assistance of the wind. As the first blinding ray of dawn broke the horizon, the ship was shrouded in a golden light. When the eyes of the spectators on the dock recovered from the dazzling display, they found that the ship, and the three men who had been aboard, had vanished out of all sight. Neither Caspius nor Edmondus were ever seen again. Ixx, however, as a force natural to the world, might well continue to exist in many forms (or, in no visible form). Indeed, since his departure with Caspius and Edmondus, Ixx has manifested himself once more, and has been in contact with various members of the Council of Bishops connected to Eustasius Greenleaf.
