Lusipurr and SiliconNooB expose all of the Project NX rumours in a podcast chock-full of literature and culture. Twilight Princess HD comes in for some criticism, and the announcement of SNES games on New 3DS causes some Australian discontent.

Glad to hear you’re watching Kill la Kill, Julian. It’s a great show. Great fights, great music, great 80s anime references (Project A-Ko galore!) and tons of jabs at shonen tropes. The show knows it’s insane and it just ups it as it goes. Stay with it, it’s worth it!

Hey Wolfe, thanks for bringing up Project A-ko. It was one of those titles that I’ve heard here and there over the years, but never gave a second thought. That brought me out of a post-Kill la Kill hangover, being suitably zany, and I could definitely see the inspiration.

I *could* emulate it, or I could play more Xcom 2.
-
Matt: I’m just glad people still remember and watch it! Totally classic stuff!

@Lusipurr Zelda: Toilet Paper? No. I don’t have a Wii U yet, as I’ve been stubbornly been awaiting a price cut. I never had it for Wii, so the HD version would be my introduction to the game

@Wolfe I’ve seen the first two episodes of Kill la Kill and I’m trying to get my wife to watch the series with me. We just finished Akame ga Kill on Crunchyroll, which reminded me of that of that very similarly-titled series. There’s even a scissor weapon in Akame!
Speaking of anime, I watched Seven Deadly Sins around the time Lusipurr recommended it, and it was really enjoyable. My wife picked the next series, Yona of the Dawn, which was just alright to me. I read that an earlier series somewhat inspired that, and found Juuni Kokuki, and we’re about 25 episodes in. They recap WAY too much at the start of each episode, but it’s an incredibly deep story. Worth watching.

“Twelve Kingdoms” has a fairly good novel to go along with it. Adds a lot of backstory to the anime. If you liked that, Mrs. Lane suggests “The Story of Saiunkoku” as an even better one.

I already own the wii version of the game and since I didn’t see any real new content other than amiibo support and ultra hard mode of Ganon Amiibo (sold separately) I canceled my pre-order and decided until I have evidence of what the wolf link amiibo does in other games I have no reason to purchase it.
I rather liked the original and I rather like many of my wii u games but I do wish that they’d stop this anti-consumer tirade they are on.

@Lane Thanks, I’ll pass along the recommendation to my wife (who is keeping a list of anime to watch)

I notice that no one has commented on the NX. If this is a portable with wireless display capability, it needs to have a better battery than the comically small one used in the Wii U gamepad.
Handheld is what makes Nintendo money, so a focus on that – especially in the wake of the miserable Wii U launch – would be expected.

@Sebastain: Akame ga Kill is a decent watch, though having seen it all the way through, it’s a significantly weaker product than KlK. That doesn’t mean it’s not fun though!
I really want to see Seven Deadly Sins, but I’ll be damned if I’m doing Netflix, and since they won’t allow any bluray/dvds of their shows, it’s going to be a long time before it’s open to me.
-
@Wolfe Just use a free trial to see Seven Deadly Sins if you have to – it’s great!
-
BTW I’m sure Lusipurr is thrilled that this TSM thread has become an anime discussion!
-
Most likely he’s happy to see life returning now that the winter chill is melting off!
-
wait we care what Lusipurr wants now?
-
I care what he wants… as long as it’s not being a part of my FF7 party.
-
@SiliconNooB Fair enough. I will NOT discuss cricket, as I know absolutely nothing about it, so I will discuss anime. I believe people shouldn’t speak of things they are ignorant of, but that would break the internet…
@Cari I have never, ever played through FF7 with Cait Sith in my party. I don’t habe anything against him/her/it, it just never happened. This gives me an idea: play through the game again specifically to use party members I’ve ignored in the past. Cloud, Barret, and Tifa make a pretty banal party… I should use Vincent, or Cait Sith… Yuffie? Just because.

No Info Blast this week, sorry. Too much to do. I plan to be back next week!
