Whilst Merlin and Arthur discuss justice on the battlements, Lusipurr and SiliconNooB discuss underboob in the basement. South Africa rebounds in the Cricket, anime Star Trains are compared, and Final Fantasy XV gains the mechanics of Animal Crossing.

This didn’t show up on my rss fees. Maybe worth checking out?

I have forced an update–hopefully that fixes it.

Well, to be fair SiliconNooB, that underboob happened to move me emotionally as well, just into a state of happiness. Come on Capcom, throw those super animations back in the game, I’ll buy Street Fighter V new just like all the other games. At least this recent costume shows a move in the right direction.

I continually hear great things about the Wild Arms series, although I have yet to play it. I might have to use this 20th anniversary as an opportunity to play these gems.

That’s all for now, as always thank you gentlemen for the entertainment!

You should discuss the anime “GATE: And So the SDF Fought.” It’s… well, it’s freaking awful. It’s basically recruitment propaganda for the JSDF, virulently nationalist, cheesy, insulting to its audience (hey otaku! Join Japan’s totally-not-a-military-but-still-kinda-a-military, and you will get to travel to fantasy realms and see underage catgirls!), insulting to good taste, and yet I can’t seem to look away from it, like if you animated a train wreck between a train of cute and fluffy kittens and a train of hungry polar bears.

I hate myself a little more with each jingoistic, war-drumming, slightly idiotic episode, and I can’t stop.

I remember seeing and liking Galaxy Express 999 about 20 years ago. It must have been the first movie; it was not the series. I liked the original Lupin III series, too. So yeah… anime.

@S.T.: that underboob happened to move me emotionally as well,
This is the traditional response to underboob.

This just made my watch list.

It really is awful. I just finished Episode 7 and I didn’t think it was possible to hate myself more, but it is! The entire episode is a cross between fan-service-y hot springs episode (complete with wildly inappropriate and out of character sexual situations) and the JSDF special forces totally outclassing US and European soldiers.

It would totally not surprise me if the final episode is just the characters roaming the streets of Japan attacking foreigners and screaming that the Korea occupation was a casual invitation for tea and Nanjing merely anti-Japanese lies spread by Chinese pigs to tarnish the great name of the Emperor. But I am *leaving* if the artist starts a homosexual samurai cult and tries to lead the JSDF in open rebellion against the Diet in the name of the Emperor. “NOTICE ME, MIKADO-SEMPAI!!!!!”

Out of character sexual situations are the best kind! :D

No, I mean like doing homoerotic pairings when neither character has shown any inclination for that before, asexual characters suddenly becoming sexualized, etc., like a doujin/”fanship” type thing. It was basically, “hey people who watch this show, we know some of you perverted fucks out there are placing the characters together in your badly-written fanfiction, so we’re going to do it on screen while the JSDF goes CODBLOPs on American and Russian soldiers because woo Japan!”

The degree of “haha, only NEETs, idiotsm and perverts watch this shit!” that GATE treats its viewers is simply astounding. I suppose that makes me an idiot because I continue watching, but at this point I’m morbidly curious to see how bad the next episode is going to get. At some point, I expect the creator to come out on screen, “Listen, otaku! You are perverse degenerates who bring down the national culture of Imperial Japan! Cease your masturbation to badly-drawn children’s cartoons, and begin a training of physical fitness and arms with the JSDF! Only then can we defeat the Western oppressors who have so weakened Japan! FOR THE EMPEROR! BANZAIIIIIII!” I get that the author is a former SDF member and all, but this sort of rampant military fetishism would make even Treyarch or DICE blush.
