According to Nomura, it’s going to be more like Dissidia than Kingdom Hearts. He claims the ATB is there in some form.

I must admit, I was hoping that it would, at the very least, be similar to Final Fantasy XIII. They want to modernize the game and make it flashier and more fast paced, and that battle system meets all those standards and keeps it somewhat traditional.

Your love for this game is unrequited. Square hates you, as it hates all its fans. FFXIV:ARR is the only real Final Fantasy game to have been released in forever, and it will be the only Final Fantasy game from here until the end of time. The golden days of the JRPG are sadly behind us, and now you must simply watch the slow, slow slide into madness and ruin to which years of spiky-haired swordsmen and comic relief mage sidekicks has led us. HUBRIS!*
* nota bene: these predictions of doom do not necessarily apply to any “Trails in the Sky” game.

@Lusipurr Did you hear the news of the game being split into multiple parts? I was wondering how they were going to handle the size of the original, so I wasn’t too surprised to hear it.

I’m guessing you aren’t too pleased to hear it.

That was exactly how I felt when playing XIV. I remembered what it was to really enjoy the plot and world of a FF title. A pity it’s not something I can really afford to upkeep. A pity the other titles don’t show the same love and reverence for the series.

Final Fantasy VII is the life blood of the planet, but Square Enix keeps sucking the blood out with these &%$#@* battle systems!

I heard the next announcement is that materia will be paid dlc ranging from $.99 for basic to $10 for summon Materia each.

Could you put MAP on on Sound cloud? It’s been how I listen to stuff at work.
