A.K.A. Do the Evil, Deny the Evil, and Observe the Evil.

Lusipurr, Mel, and SiliconNooB

The Starlight Megaphone
Download: Produced 2014.05.18

Lusipurr is the subject of a patent lawsuit when Mel claims that he invented being wrong and that Lusipurr now owes him royalties. SiliconNooB takes the case, emphatically proving to Chief Justice Iliya that Lusipurr has never been wrong. Case dismissed!

    INFO TUESDAY BLAST!

    This week’s panel:
    SiliconNooB
    Mel
    Iliya Moroumetz
    Lusipurr

    Feature: Refer a friend
I’ve tried to get friends to read before, but I may be able to push a little bit more and get some traction.
I still think it’s a cop-out. You have the ability to play them and thus should be able to be forced to play them.

If LusiCom did a community game of Borderlands 2 I would totally play with you guys. That sounds like a great time.

    Mario Kart 8 reviews
I own a Wii U and will probably play this near release, it looks good.

Not sure I got the right story here, it’s old and the only one I could find.

    XBONE -Kinect
    I figured as much.

xbox Live loosens grip on Netflix
Good. Even Nintendo (who is famously online incompetent) allows Netflix freely on their systems.

    Pervert’s Guid to Ideology
I’m not looking this up. There’s too much potential to find things I don’t want to see.

    Physical games vs Digital games
I do like having physical games, but digital copies can be very convenient in terms of not requiring storage.

    Nothing really this week, sorry.

“I still think it’s a cop-out. You have the ability to play them and thus should be able to be forced to play them.”
I have the ‘ability to play’ every game on the planet. But as I do not allow you to force me to spend money on a game I do not own, I also do not allow you to force me to spend time installing a game that I don’t even know that I own (and possibly an operating system on which to play it). Too bad. Suck it up.

“Good. Even Nintendo (who is famously online incompetent) allows Netflix freely on their systems.”
I think this has more to do with the fact that Nintendo simply weren’t competent enough to create a pay-for-play system.

“I’m not looking this up. There’s too much potential to find things I don’t want to see.”
I think that’s actually rather unlikely provided you were to type the full title. Strangely, everyone seems to be talking about The Pervert’s Guide to Ideology this week. It came up during a work meeting, in fact.

“This guy deserves the terrible things that are inevitably coming his way.”
Why? As he has repeatedly told us, he is the mildest of men. Be reasonable!

“DiceAdmiral’s Brettsuo Gaming Moment; Nothing really this week, sorry.”
Lazy bastard! Play something! Transistor is out today. Get on it.

@Ferchu: I am impressed that you knew from which anime that picture comes. You get one (1) knowledge point. You may spend it as you wish. Knowledge points can be spent in our gift shoppe.

Mel is the character in the middle. I, too, hate him.

I have a Wii U and am looking forward to playing Mario Kart 8. It will be the first time that Wind Waker HD will be ejected from my system.

By the way, I love the podcast. I’ve been listening to it for quite some time. Not sure why it took me so long to comment on one of your articles, but here it is.

@LegendaryApple: We are ALWAYS thrilled to hear from longtime readers/first-time commenters. Thanks for the comment!

No love for Mario or Pikmin on your Wii U? Both Mario games on the system are exceptional.

I have both. I beat Pikmin before playing Zelda, and I downloaded Mario 3D World (I was feeling particularly lazy that day and actually regret the decision now) so no disc swap was required. I haven’t actually played New Super Mario U, but plan to rectify that soon enough.

@LegendaryApple: I’m not sure off the top of my head, but New Super Mario Bros. U may be one of the options for a free digital game with purchase of Mario Kart 8. If not, poke around on eBay or Amazon and pick up the single-disc New Super Mario U + Super Luigi U version. The DLC is excellent, and you can get the bundled single disc version for roughly the same price as the base game without DLC.

Lusi- You can’t hate Mel, he is always right :D . That Anime is easy to remember since it has 14 year old girls using TANKS xD . I could only get as far as the third episode . I accept the knowledge point :D

DA- I agree with you, candide deserves the terrible things that are inevitably coming his way.

I so want to play unlimited saga . I used to play saga frontier a lot but I never could play unlimited saga in the ps2 :( . I asked some friends to come to this site, but they are a bunch of lazy bastards .

    @Ferchu: Mel is ALWAYS WRONG.

You don’t want to play Unlimited SaGa. It’s nothing like SaGa Frontier or SaGa Frontier II. It’s sort of like a board game, but even more terrible and clunky.

I played Mario Kart 8 all weekend and while the item balance is a step in the right direction, the reviews I’ve read seem to exaggerate the improvement. The game is a blast overall, but the items continue to be a frustration in the Grand Prix (which can be played multiplayer, which is nice). The versus options are much better, although inexplicably not at SSB level. The game looks stunning in person and in motion, however, and the racing is fantastic. It’s like the best of Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7 with some of the bad from both. It’s not broken, though. The best players were winning the vast majority of the time.

@Lusi: I’d love to hear the return of Tales from MiiVerse. Any chance we’ll get more of that soon? I would think that Mario Kart 8 might incite a return to your Wii U.

I will try to do another Tales from the MiiVerse soon. I haven’t been using my WiiU very much, but you are quite right: Mario Kart 8 should change that.

I really do love Tales from the MiiVerse, although Mario Kart 8 won’t provide a lot of fodder for it specifically.
