@MasterCheif- If your having trouble with a game recognising your controller try downloading a program called xpadder. It allows you to remap your gamepad as though it were buttons on the keyboard or mouse,so you can map one analogue stick as the mouse and the other as w,s,a,d.

@Lusipurr, but that whould be a really good way to let out some steam

Hitting people with an axe over and over again is also a good way to let off steam.

Hitting people with an axe is always rewarding too!

Not always. Sometimes they don’t drop good loot.

This is why you need to hit MANY people with an axe.

Distant but efficient, just pop down to your local I.G. Faben and you’re ready to go.

Also: PC Gaming would improve with a lot more point-and-click adventure games. Gone are the days of excellent games like Space/Kings/Police Quest, 7th Guest/11th Hour, Phantasmagoria, Shadowgate/Deja Vu/Uninvited, Myst, Monkey Island, and so on.

I would pay REAL MONEY for a GOOD point-and-click in the vein of one of those titles.

The problem with point-and-click games is that, quite frankly, they’re really only good for a playthrough or two. Much like Japanese visual novel games, every decision or obstacle is set in stone, and once you play it once, you’re done. It’s hard to market a game with little to no replayability. However, that’s another topic for another time.

I’m fine with one playthough, I only ever tend to play a game once unless it’s excellent. Give me Grim Fandango 2!

I’ll never play Bioshock again, and that is the closest thing we have today to a point-and-click adventure game. It’s more of a kill-and-maim adventure game, but you can see that much has been derived.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Space Quest series, and both The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour were models of brilliance. It is a pity games in this vein really aren’t be made any longer.

Also, I have to say that I loved Shadowgate and Uninvited, too, and the ports of these games to the NES was most welcome.

Well I’ll probably never play Bioshock again because it sucked more cock than a Gag Factor movie, but that’s another podcast.

I do remember loving King’s Quest V on the NES… I actually have the PC King’s Quest collection, I should see how those are like…

I don’t see why games even need replayability so long as the first play though is fun enough, granted Master Chef would probably rather be playing cooking moma, but Bioshock is an amazing experience that only ever need be experienced once.
