Just in time for the holiday season, Squares makes a timely announcement that Doublesix’s newest co-operative shooter All Zombie’s Must Die! will grace the PlayStation Network on December 27, 2011 and Xbox Live Arcade on December 28, 2011. The game will set players back $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points.

This zany game offers up to 4-players the opportunity fight the post-holiday blues by smashing through undead hordes in the city of Deadhill. All Zombies Must Die! combines traditional top-down shooting with RPG elements to create a uniquely action-packed gaming experience. The ultimate goal? Kill as many zombies as possible while completing the game’s humorous questlines, leveling up characters, and handcrafting weapons. As players complete levels and progress through the game they will unlock new weapons, arena levels, and characters.

Doulbesix’s creative director, Jim Mummery has said, “All Zombies Must Die! adds its own unique ingredients to the genre, with weapons-based arena combat, weapons crafting, character development and a whole lot of questing, all mixed in with a huge portion of zombie action.“

Four characters are at the heart of Deadhill’s zombie apocalypse: Jack, the Gamer, Rachel, the Girl, Brian, the Geek, and Luxo, the Alien. The plot is simple. Jack wakes one morning to find a zombie apocalypse at his doorstep. Isn’t that what every gamer secretely hopes for? Players must defeat wave after wave of zombie in this playfully morbid action shooter while collection various power-ups and completing side-quests to craft even more powerful weapons. The game’s brightly-colored and comic graphics serve to add to the overall sense of ironic humor in this latest addition in the world of zombie shoot-em-ups.

All Zombie’s Must Die! is the spiritual successor to Doublesix’s earlier release Burn Zombie Burn! Doublesix, since its inception in 2007, has become a powerhouse in the world of digital distribution and downloadable games across all platforms.

I think I’ll be picking this up after the holidays. The concept sounds delightful.
