Square Enix Inc., the American publisher for Square Enix, announce that they will be showcasing many games, as well as a number of exclusive events at this years New York Comic Con. This year, the event will take place in Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan from October thirteenth through the sixteenth.
Show attendees will be treated to playable demos of a handful of new games. The biggest of these will probably be the demo for Final Fantasy XIII-2, giving players a chance to get a feel for Serah and Noel, the new leads as they search for Lightning in the latest installment of the Final Fantasy franchise. Other than this, there will be a preview for the new French MMORPG, Wakfu, an anime style, turn-based tactical game from Ankama. Wakfu is in beta testing right now and will be available in early 2012.
There will also be playable demos of a few already released games. Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be available to play, giving players an exclusive chance to experience the upcoming DLC, entitled “Missing Link” and giving players additional play during a point in the game where Adam Jensen mysteriously disappeared for three days. This DLC will be available later this month. Players will also get a chance to try out the melee focused zombie game Dead Island, in case they had not already purchased it.
Other exclusive events from Square Enix include a Tomb Raider 15th anniversary celebration where attendees can receive an exclusive autographed 5×7 art print by Camilla D’errico. There will also be the last stop of the Final Fantasy XIII-2 “Word to Your Moogle” tour. Fans who attend can enter to win event exclusive prizes.
