Valve Software has today announced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Valve has stated that this new Counter-Strike game is going to release on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and on PC and Mac through Steam. Valve is looking at a release window of early 2012.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched exactly twelve years ago. CS:GO will feature new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic Counter-Strike content. In addition, CS:GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more. Counter-Strike:Global Offensive is being developed by Valve in cooperation with Seattle-based Hidden Path Entertainment. The title is targeted for release in early 2012 and will be playable at this year’s PAX Prime and Eurogamer Expo 2011.
