@Wolfe: It is definitely darker than any of the other Zeldas. I mean, all the areas you explore are basically metaphors for each of the stages of grief.
]]>@Mel – I was always scared off by the Great Bay Temple when I replayed MM, but I had done a lot more before choosing to tackle it this time, and I crushed it pretty easily, and then I was into territory that I hadn’t played in years and years, so it was very exciting to continue. The Stone Tower Temple bested me. I had to restart the cycle during the final boss fight. That was tough, although I knew I was cutting it close based on how little I had progressed through it by the second day. Plus, on my second time through I was able to get all the stray fairies at the same time and the Great Fairy Sword was a big help for the final boss since I didn’t collect all 24 masks to power up to Fierce Deity this time.
]]>The annoying bit is that I won’t be playing on a New 3DS with the benefit of the Thinkpad nub or the more stable stereoscopic 3D, which I’m curious to try. I’m not sure if it would still be a strain on my eye even though it stays in focus more easily. I think I’d have play a game on the system for a while to really know for sure, but I’ve heard lots of critics say they play their games with the 3D on now.
A part of me wishes I could just get this enhanced version ported to the Wii U, on a big TV with a nice robust Wii U pro controller. But alack, I shall have to spend my forty bones on this and be happy.
