That makes it even freakier to me. I’m sure it’s a fun game, but man, those kinda themes get to me.

The graphics are amazing and all the little tweaks I’ve seen just streamline the gameplay. Nintendo did good with this one.

@Wolfe: It is definitely darker than any of the other Zeldas. I mean, all the areas you explore are basically metaphors for each of the stages of grief.

It will have to wait until I get the proper funds. Ordinarily this would mean I’d get the game cheaper later on, but Nintendo games usually only go UP in price if anything.

It’s not for everybody.

The premise just… creeps me the hell out. It’s like Hyrule through the lens of a murderous carnie.

Perfectly adapted to handheld viewing, something I wish I mentioned in my review now. I have to admit that I was worried that they might flab this remaster, but I feel that the spirit of Majora’s Mask is perfectly transferred.

At that point, there’s so much stuff to get that helps out like crazy going forward. A billion bottles, Epona, the sword upgrades, wallet upgrades, larger quivers and bomb bags, tons of useful or at least interesting masks, heart pieces out the face, and the means to easily get most of it. I guess the hookshot is pretty key too, especially for the spider houses. I don’t know. Mikau’s makeshift boomerang arms tend to get the job done in some of those cases. I’m going to go back and complete my notebook when the game comes out properly and Caileigh starts playing it.

Aside from the audio glitches, the GCN controller is rather bad to play the N64 Zelda games with as they did not readjust aiming for the different control stick. Stick with the N64 or 3DS versions.

@Mel – I was always scared off by the Great Bay Temple when I replayed MM, but I had done a lot more before choosing to tackle it this time, and I crushed it pretty easily, and then I was into territory that I hadn’t played in years and years, so it was very exciting to continue. The Stone Tower Temple bested me. I had to restart the cycle during the final boss fight. That was tough, although I knew I was cutting it close based on how little I had progressed through it by the second day. Plus, on my second time through I was able to get all the stray fairies at the same time and the Great Fairy Sword was a big help for the final boss since I didn’t collect all 24 masks to power up to Fierce Deity this time.

There’s always some stopping point for me. Hopefully I get through Majora’s Mask lol

I should probably try and finish at least one of the Zelda titles that I already own first… link to the past, ocarina of time, twilight princess, skyward sword, phantom hourglass or spirit tracks. Of course I could just play this on the GCN collectors disc that I have, but I’d have to hook the gamecube or my wii back up… decisions decisions.

What is the Canadian National Treasure, anyway? Is it about the man that won the championship for Longest Friendly Stare?

I hope to have the time soon to give to this game a run through. I’ve been avoiding my urges to replay the original version since this remaster was officially announced. As someone who has limited interest in playing on handheld consoles, even Ocarina of Time managed to compel me enough and replay it a couple of times so I suspect I’ll be as compelled with this game.

The annoying bit is that I won’t be playing on a New 3DS with the benefit of the Thinkpad nub or the more stable stereoscopic 3D, which I’m curious to try. I’m not sure if it would still be a strain on my eye even though it stays in focus more easily. I think I’d have play a game on the system for a while to really know for sure, but I’ve heard lots of critics say they play their games with the 3D on now.

A part of me wishes I could just get this enhanced version ported to the Wii U, on a big TV with a nice robust Wii U pro controller. But alack, I shall have to spend my forty bones on this and be happy.
