Couldn’t advise it for raiding, however.

I can first play a level in 3D World/Fight a match is Smash, then I can fight a Pokemon battle, then I can do a quest in WoW and then repeat the rotation. Seems like an easy solution to me.

Reality: End up playing WoW mostly.

The Wii U version has passed my expectations and is making it hard for me to figure out how to split my time between Smash Bros, Mario 3D World, Pokemon, and WoW.

@LegendaryApple – By the sounds of it, Nintendo really wants people to have a wired connection. It doesn’t sound promising. I expect it to be better than the Wii’s online and comparable to the 3DS.

@Lusi – I look forward to that too!

Hopefully the online works better than it does on the 3DS.

Anyway! I was wondering, what control methods did you use (or use primarily), since this game offers something like 6 different options for control. I don’t think the GameCube adapters are out yet, unless you also got that ahead of release (you friggin’–) so I’d assume you stuck mostly with the Wii U Pro Controller.

Also, when you mentioned how many people this game got interested in playing or in getting a Wii U, I’m probably looking at the same situation over here. When a week until launch rolled around, my old Smash group all started asking about the game, and after some time with it this weekend I wouldn’t be surprised if they get it and the system before the year is out.

I feel pretty certain of what this game will be from my time with the 3DS version, and as of right now I too am happy with the roster at least as much as I was with Brawl. Smash has always been a wildly unbalanced affair, and I’ve noticed this already to some extent. Rosalina was a wrecking machine against some particular foes (Little Mac) and in the latest patch (on the 3DS at least) some of her mechanics were tweaked to address this. Not sure what I think about balancing changes so early into the game’s life span, but all I know is Rosalina was twice as hard to beat than she was to win with in my experience.

Anyway, I expect this game to get its hooks into me fully (minus the Amiibo aspect, which I’ll be wholly ignoring since its application in the game is actually very shallow) as I purposely did not pursue too much extra content in the 3DS version to avoid burning out on the superior experience.

And finally (for reals), I’d only note that the competitive scene in Brawl (such as it was) did not take to the custom stages for difficulty of regulation and the inconvenience of distribution since save data is system-locked for that game. I expect a similar outcome here (even if data is easily transferable), and the same goes for the custom moves. There’s a lot still up in the air for the competitive scene, but you won’t catch me holding my breath.
