Already certain “techs” people found have been removed, to varying degrees of understanding and/or outrage. Since I don’t have the (real version of the) game yet and can’t say for certain how this patch has changed things (because Nintendo wants to treat us like children and won’t release patch notes), and since this is only the first balance patch, I’m not going to declare some trend from little or no evidence. We just don’t know yet how Nintendo’s newly begun foray into post-release support of this kind will impact the game.

But it will be a new factor for the Smash community to deal with, of that I am certain.

I would. And did. Above (see above for above quote above).

“it feels to me that at the end of the day people were excited about it because they saw recognizable mechanic tropes wrapped up in a plot that AAA companies would turn down, regardless of the fact that the mechanics were not framed in an interesting way and its plot and conceit is more “dark” than it is particularly interesting.”
Entirely correct. And hence it is crap. (see above, above above, and above: above above, above (above)).

“Great game.”
Disagree.

““Had bothered” is interesting word selection!”
interesting adj. Deliberately provocative and insulting with the intention of antagonising or of inciting angry comment. See also provocateur.

“I think we had talked about this before, and it appears that our instincts were dead on.”
We did, and were (see previous, as above, but before above, above).

I think the community is still using Brawl as a point of comparison and as such (in conjunction with the inferior 3DS version) the metagame is very, very young. I know that’s an obvious statement to make, and the analysis you provide is essential in the slow inevitable process of discovering what we’re right about and what we’re wrong about, but I’m not so quick to judge any character yet.

Either way, I never won much with ROB in Brawl and do so even less in the new one, but he’s just too damn fun to play as.

I am happy to use “game” in its expanded definition in conjunction with an expanding form, but strictly, you are correct.

Binding of Isaac is over-hyped Indie crap, which people who over-hype indie crap bang on about without cessation.
This is partly true. There is commendable design from what I saw and it is a cohesive vision, so I wouldn’t call it crap, but it feels to me that at the end of the day people were excited about it because they saw recognizable mechanic tropes wrapped up in a plot that AAA companies would turn down, regardless of the fact that the mechanics were not framed in an interesting way and its plot and conceit is more “dark” than it is particularly interesting.

Stop playing Mario Kart!
No way. Great game.

There are lots of negative things to say about Vagrant Story (structurally), and if you had bothered to be on the podcast or had listened to it, you would have heard them! Sluggard!
“Had bothered” is interesting word selection!

Precisely where I stopped, for precisely the same reason.
I think we had talked about this before, and it appears that our instincts were dead on.

I can confirm that they really did give Sheik her dangerous qualities back, making her capable of juggling opponents that do not know the basics of how to avoid such a fate. Olimar… yeah he’s been super nerfed. His recovery is better, but everything else is worse. As for ROB, ROB’s a butt and I don’t play with butts. Never liked his slow weird attacks that all come out a useless angles. His projectile game isn’t as good as someone like Link’s or Samus’s (and they made it much worse in Smash 4). He’s got great survivability (like most of the cast in newer Smash games), but I never saw much else in him. Take that, Ethos!

I will have to get the game by others means ….

”I am not a particularly talented artist, but the idea has always appealed to me and so learning even a few of the very basics is valuable to me. It is also helpful that the game encourages players to take their time and also applauds creativity so that players will feel free to experiment even with the iconic images of Pokémon”

Funny, that sounds appealing to me, I used to draw a lot when I was a kid, so much that one time I had to do a drawing for homework, and when my teacher saw it she thought I didn’t do it, it was too good to have been drawn by me she said. I think she thought that because I was 8 years old at that time and it was a FINE drawing of donald duck.

Nothing more to add about the other games since I don’t have a 3ds or a wiiU yet, but it looked fun and interesting to read .

Not sure if Pokemon Art Academy is a game . . .

I mean, I appreciate all the things it is trying to do. I like the challenge and the focus on adaptability and observation in conjunction with twitch skill, and I even enjoy the conceit to some extent, but something about the execution of the gameplay does not sit well with me. Or, rather, it does not compel me.

Seriously, my girlfriend and I have played it for hours at a time every night and we are still not sick of it.
Stop playing Mario Kart!

I am trying, man. It feels similar to Chrono Trigger for me in that I do not really have anything significantly negative to say about the game, but I am just not able to get myself into it.
There are lots of negative things to say about Vagrant Story (structurally), and if you had bothered to be on the podcast or had listened to it, you would have heard them! Sluggard!

I had bought this on PlayStation 3 and stopped fairly early on at the end of the labyrinth section, feeling like I had seen all there was.
Precisely where I stopped, for precisely the same reason.
