Nice article!
]]>It’s hard to conceive of a bigger slap in the face that Kojima could have delivered to gamers.
]]>As for the “chilling effect” that cyber bullying has on the industry, I think the real issue is that we have a bunch of pusscakes with public Twitter feeds that work on games. When I was growing up, I was always told the “sticks and stones” crap that I’m sure many other people on this site heard. I was also taught to not give into bullies because that just empowered them to make my life more of a living hell.
Flash forward to 2014 and it seems like everything is reversed. Apparently words hurt a lot, and we are supposed to let bullies know how much they hurt. So now every dickhead with a Twitter account knows that a few harsh tweets will have the same effect that punching somebody in the face does. Unfortunately, things are only going to get worse from here. Soon even basic trash talking during a match will be seen as bullying and we will live in a world full of pusscakes that feel that being called “a little bitch” is akin to calling gay people “faggots” or a woman a “cunt”.
