A game’s background score has to convey the mood of the game, and the heavy metal riffs accomplish that very well. As to why the narrative has turned so dark, think about it people, the prince is chased by an indestructible, invincible demon who is bent upon devouring him. The narrative reflects the gloom of the prince, the sure death that he must face. This is the prince whose fate has been sealed, his loved ones killed by none other than himself, he lives in a constant fear of death, he is bound to become dark and angry. That’s the only way he can hope to keep himself alive. The truth is the darkness in the air is very fascinating. The prince’s attitude inspiring, he will fight fate itself if he has to win back his life. The game’s a must have!!

He’s just holding swords backwards because holding swords backwards is COOL and EDGY, much like holding a pistol sideways makes one look GANGSTA.

The game looks very similar to the Assassins’ Creed games (which I am aware came after the start of the Prince of Persia series).
