Konami pleases fans of the Castlevania series with the recent release of the Castlevania Collection for the PlayStation 3.

The Collection combines all of the 2D games in the series in one blu-ray disc.  The graphics have been upgraded to HD, much like the other collections released for the PS3.  Just like fans of the series remember, the games play like a platformer.  The player take the roles of various vampire hunters, usually in the Belmont family, who are on a quest to destroy Dracula.  The Belmont clan do this with the help of the Vampire Killer, a whip that only those with the Belmont gene can use to its full potential.

The new graphics are a great addition to the already amazing titles.  Characters and enemies are much more detailed than in the previous versions.  Controls have been tightened up and updated for the Playstation 3 controller, which is another great aspect to the collection. However, even with the upgrades to the games, they still feel like the games released years ago.

Overall, there are no negative parts to this collection.  Combine the great 2D Castlevania games, updated graphics, and tightened controls and one has created an amazing collection.  For both new and old fans of the series, especially Lusipurr, this is a great choice.
