Bup recounts for us his Top Nine Of 2009. Ginia discusses her resolution to beat more games. Lane pulls a Legolas and looks in to the future and tells us what he sees. It is as if the three ghosts from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol volunteered to write here when not helping the Scroooges of the world finally come around to family functions or buy large ducks for people they poopooed upon year after year.
This leaves Lusipurr as somewhat of a Jacob Marley sort; he lays it all out for us and tells us the happs. He connects all you Scrooges to these fine ghosts of fortune and wants only for you to heed their words, take them to heart.
With you fine readers as our Scrooge, Lusi being our Marley, and Bup, Ginia, and Lane picking up the slack as Ghosts of Past, Present, and Future – where does this leave me? May I be your unappreciated nephew? I feel like I sprinkle occasionally unwanted joy into your bleak lives (asking for only your readership, listenership, and occasional participation in discussions through comments) and get little in return. Though I would never consider holding it against you – you are my uncle for Christmas sake!If I am to be you dearly unappreciated, might I ask you this: What would you like to see from me throughout the new year that would get you to hang out with me (read: have open discourse with me in the comments, you Ebenezers you!)? I started my tenure here with more growl and ended on more of a whimper, but understand that lately I have only been writing only iPhone game reviews as it is all I have on me at the moment.
Are there any topics, ideas, thoughts or discussions our curmudgeonly readers have in mind that have not been touched upon over the past year that maybe you would like for me (or us as a whole, I suppose) to take a stab at? Various opinions, skills, and mindsets are behind what you read and hear here, so no idea would go unconsidered (so long as it relates to video games). Let me try to get you to appreciate me! Let us all get you to buy us Christmas gooses!

I’m not dead!
2010.01.05 at 12:05
A Jaob Marley sort. You are not dead, but are in the style of?
2010.01.05 at 13:37
In the style of being dead? Is that like a Zombie or a Vampire?

I loved this post. :D
I always like yours, though. :)

It was a really awesome post :P
I think there has been a lack of talk of Dissidia (because it’s the best PSP game ever), Phoenix Wright (because I think it’s the kind of game you would really like, Lusipurr) and what Gamecube Classics we should play. I love my Gamecube, because I wanted one forever, and then got it and had no games for it, but I bought it with my own money, and not as a christmas present, so it has special value. Doesn’t excuse the fact the first game I bought was Pokemon Channel, but hey. It’s a console you don’t mention much, and there’s plenty of banter to be had over it. I also think you should rant about Fable some more. That was fun :)

Oh and also, as a musical genius, you should talk more about video game music. :P

The Gamecube does have some excellent, stand-out titles. Pikmin comes to mind as the sort of game that no one else has ever made, and Wind Waker is probably the only truly excellent 3D Zelda game. Metroid Prime, of course, is a masterpiece.
I could talk about video game music until the end of time–far more than even Ethan could, because I am a musician first and foremost. Knowing that, I try to pare back what I say about it in an effort to avoid drowning people in musical discussion. Also, Nate Liles can barely play The Radio let alone any sort of instrument.

@Eric J- I demand more Oliver Motok jokes in your picture captions!
@Lusi- I could totally get behind some OST reviews!

Seconded, both statements. You should have like a music feature every month, that would be cool. And Lusipurr forgot to capitalize NATE LILES. Will the Great Potato come eat him now?
I have Metroid Prime – it is really, really good, and has a proper learning curve to it, which I appreciate, as I normally suck at those kinds of games :P And sorry, I have to disagree – Ocarina of Time lets me get past the first dungeon, so it is slightly better than Wind Waker in my opinion.
2010.01.06 at 14:52
Wind Waker is loads easier than Ocarina of Time, and is far more attractive besides.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE GREAT POTATO.
2010.01.06 at 21:41
@Luripuss: The Great Potato will smite you for those words, just you wait! I’d be all in favor of some more content about game music. I’m usually not too picky when it comes to the music during games, but I’d like to hear what other people have to say on the matter. I really got a gamecube too late in the generation to play much except for a few of the major titles (Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, etc.), but everything I played on the console was excellent.

I don’t see why there cannot be a Great Potato? Are not all his potato children made in his image? Was his own son not immaculately starched?
2010.01.07 at 14:11
Lusipurr: Yes. Like a zombie or a vampire.
SiliconNooB: I will try to make fun of Oliver more.
All: Sounds like we all have some GameCube love going on here. I’ll see what I can cook up.
Also, potatoes sound so good right now. (I am hungry)

Yeah, video game music would be fantastic. It’s often a little overlooked and it would be great to give both Lusipurr and myself a chance to talk about it, since it sounds like he’s like me by holding back a bit.

Music is one of the most important aspects of any game for me!
