@Oyashiro-Yeah I was starting to wonder whether I would get to play the game at all or if it would turn out to be an just one big 80 hour cutscene. In that respect the design of P3's begining was alot more accessible.

@Oliver- I agree with you about the bosses, fighting them feels like butting my head against a wall. Instead of experimenting with different spells to try an find their weakness I have to rely on liberal use of fortification spells to get me through these marathon battles of attrition.

One of the best games on the PS2, hands down! It does take a while to get into the game, good thing the localization is fantastic and was actually quite nice to sit through.

Well, it should be said that generally speaking, the AI-controlled party members in P3 don't cause *that* much trouble. But there are a few instances (usually boss battles) in which you'll likely feel like tearing out your hair because of it.

Noob: my only complaint was the lack of Mitsuru.

I've just started playing and already love it more than P3 (it just seems to have a better balance to it). My only criticism is that it doesn't have Junpei!

I've been watching the Giantbomb Endurance Run of P4 and really want to get it. (Sadly, I'm poor.) I've enjoyed previous Persona games, mostly the old school 1&2, and SMT:Nocturne so it is a series I'm a fan of.

Is the combat in P3 really that much more aggravating though because of the computer controlled characters? I generally turn characters to manual in games that allow it because they tend to spam magic and items wastefully. Some, none I can think of to mention by name right now, do maintain a decent balance between spamalot and melee attacks until whatever they're fighting dies though.
